Saw an unusual film today, The Rider. Family of nonprofessional actors, the Jandreau family, portraying themselves in a story revolving around a Native American "cowboy" who is injured while on the rodeo circuit. Beautifully filmed, great music, photography, acting, scenery.
I found it a little slow at times and a little too fond of closeups. Okay, the star is handsome and movie star eligible, but I needed for the story to move along.
My husband, however, loved the film and did not find it slow going at all. I have a feeling this movie appeals more to men as it portrays a rather macho subculture.
